While it's a guesthouse, Escape Bajo offers a charming and comfortable base; we found the rooms to be clean, well-maintained, and surprisingly spacious for the region. The focus here is on a genuine local experience rather than five-star luxury, but the hospitality and serene setting are truly exceptional.
How do we best get to Escape Bajo and Loh Buaya National Park from mainland Indonesia?
We always fly into Labuan Bajo on Flores Island, which is the main gateway, and from there, arrange a boat transfer directly to Rinca Island where Loh Buaya and Escape Bajo are located. The guesthouse can often assist with these arrangements, making the journey seamless and part of the adventure.
Besides seeing Komodo dragons at Loh Buaya, what other activities do you recommend from Escape Bajo?
We absolutely suggest exploring the surrounding islands for incredible snorkeling and diving opportunities, particularly around Pink Beach or Manta Point, which are easily accessible by boat from Rinca.
